The Tulsa City-County Library began a six-month pilot program Monday, giving card holders a chance to download music for free.
The Freegal music service allows any Tulsa County resident, with a valid library card, access to a vast collection of popular music—all from their computer, tablet, or smart phone.
"With such a huge collection of songs to choose from, we anticipate this service will be a big hit with all ages, especially young people who are accustomed to downloading music to their computers," said Charlotte Frazier, director of support services at TCCL.
Freegal is funded through the Tulsa Library Trust and gives users access to three downloads per week. After downloading the song, the music is free to keep and transfer to any media device.
Go here to download your free songs, or call the AskUs Hotline at 918-549-7323 for help. You can also download music through the Freegal app, available for free in the Apple and Android app stores.
