Work gets underway Monday on revamping what state officials say is a dangerous highway intersection.
Crews begin working on a bridge to cross over U.S. Highway 75 at 116th Street North.
There have been nearly two dozen crashes and three deaths at that intersection over the last three years.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says building a new interchange at the intersection should help improve safety.
The project is expected to take nine months.
ODOT has closed 116th Street North at Highway 75 during the construction period. Cost of the project is $7 million.
