The 2013 baseball season will begin much like the 2012 awards season ended for Oral Roberts sophomore Jose Trevino as he has been recognized by Baseball America on Third Team Preseason All-American.

Anchoring the left side of the infield, Trevino was honored by Baseball America at the end of his rookie campaign as a Freshman All-American at third base.

The slugger from Corpus Christi, Texas, closed last season tied with Jared Schlehuber, Major League Baseball free agent signee, with team high 13 home runs. Trevino led the Summit League champions in five offensive categories, including average (.317), hits (78), runs batted in (57), doubles (18), and triples (3).

To go along with his freshman All-American mention from Baseball American, three other outlets gave Trevino freshman All-American nods, including Louisville Slugger, the National College Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game. He capped off 2012 by competing for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team in an international tournament in The Netherlands.

Joining the Southland Conference for 2013, the Golden Eagles throw out the first pitch for the upcoming season at home in J.L. Johnson Stadium for a three-game set on Feb. 15 against Saint Louis.
