Tulsa police arrested a man for stealing from the Walmart at 2019 East 81st Street Thursday afternoon. A loss prevention employee called police at about 4 p.m. after seeing Durwin Towns, 49, stealing white T-shirts and gloves, according to Tulsa police.

Officers say when they approached Towns, he took off running across the parking lot towards the Crown Plaza Hotel. They captured him in front of the hotel, and he was booked on counts of petit larceny and resisting arrest.

Towns already had six warrants for his arrest: a felony warrant for taking or receiving a stolen credit card and five misdemeanor warrants for traffic-related complaints.
