Members of Tulsa's Jewish community gathered Friday night to celebrate the last night of Hanukkah.

It was a celebration dampened by the tragedy in Connecticut, but families found hope as they lit the candles of the menorah.

"Even in the terrible darkness, personal, communal, national lives; we have to be those who kindle light who bring light into this world," said Rabbi Charles Sherman, of Temple Israel.

Hanukkah started this year at sunset on December 8 and ended on Friday, upon nightfall.
