The Sand Springs Education Foundation handed out $58,000 in grant money to the district's teachers Friday.

The money will go to all sites in the district, from the 4-year-old center to the high school.

Through fundraisers, the foundation helps teachers pay for extra programs that aren't included in the regular budget.

News On 6 Anchor Scott Thompson is a member of the foundation and got to be a part of the presentations of the checks.

The need for money in the district is still great. The foundation could only meet half of the requests that were made with what they had to give Friday.
