A Joplin, Missouri business is supplying the cutting edge pieces to a space ship that will eventually take ordinary people into orbit.
The machine shop got the job after a tough audition.
Virgin Galactic made the request. The company cranked out a perfect prototype in just four hours - and won the contract.
"It wasn't anything that went out for bid they knew we could do it and get it to them on time and they specifically came to us for that purpose," said Mark Johnson, C&M Machining President.
The shop has until just after Christmas to make the pieces that will go into the seats on board the Virgin Galactic spacecraft.
