American Airlines Closer To Merger With US Airways

Turbulent times could be pushing American Airlines closer to a merger.

The airline says a new pilots' contract opens the door for a merger with US Airways.

It would still require the approval of a bankruptcy judge, but US Airways says, if the merger is successful, the new combined airline would keep the American Airlines brand name and be based in American's hometown of Fort Worth.
