Prosecutors filed a felony charge Monday against a Tulsa man accused of raping a 16-year-old girl.
Tshaka Ali Rivers, 34, is charged with sexual abuse of a minor child.
He was arrested November 24, after police said a 16-year-old family member told her aunt that Rivers had come into her bedroom and raped her earlier that morning.
Her aunt immediately called police and the girl completed a sexual assault examination, police said.
Rivers works as the director of programs of New Hope, an organization aimed at helping children who have parents in prison. He was featured in a CBS News story on that organization in October.
Then, on October 31, Rivers' 7-year-old son, Elijah, was hit by a car and killed while making his way to school.
Rivers remains in a Tulsa County jail. He is being held on $50,000 bond.
