Police pulled over a car early Wednesday and discovered the driver had been shot in the head.

The incident happened on 61st Street near the St. Thomas Square Apartments. It began when police got a call about shots being fired in the area. When officers arrived they saw a black Camaro heading east from the parking lot.

When officers pulled the car over a few blocks away, they discovered the driver bleeding from a wound. "He was conscious, he was talking to us, and it appeared that he had one gunshot wound in the head," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Jim Clark.

Police say the driver's window was shattered and there was a bullet hole in the roof of the car.

EMSA paramedics took the man to the hospital. Police say he is expected to survive. They haven't released his identity but say he's 29 years old.

Police say the man is not cooperating with officers about what led up to the shooting. A female passenger in the car was not injured and police say she is not talking either.

If you have any information about this shooting call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
