Prosecutors Request Delay In Arraignment Of Men Charged In Good Friday Murders

Prosecutors are asking a judge to delay next week's scheduled arraignment for two men charged in the April killings that terrified residents of a Tulsa neighborhood.

Assistant District Attorney Doug Drummond filed a request Tuesday to delay next Monday's arraignment for Jake England and Alvin Watts. The request says prosecutors want more time to decide whether to seek the death penalty.

A judge has not yet ruled on the request. The motion says defense attorneys do not object to a delay.

England and Watts face murder and hate crime charges in a shooting spree that killed three people and wounded two others. All five victims were black, and authorities say England may have targeted black people because he wanted to avenge his father's shooting death by a black man.
