Sophomore forward Rashad Smith's 23 points led a ferocious TU comeback Thursday night as the Golden Hurricane came from 11-down to beat Northern Kentucky 76-56.

Smith's strong performance was also very efficient, shooting 6-8 from the field and 11-12 from the free throw line. Scottie Haralson scored 10 on 4-8 shooting and was the only other TU player to reach double figures.

Northern Kentucky (0-2) was led by Nate Snodgrass' 12 points off the bench. No Norse starter reached double figures.

Rashad Ray's nine points on 4-4 shooting provided the bench spark for the Golden Hurricane, while D'Andre Wright also added six.

The win improves the Hurricane to 2-0 under first-year coach Danny Manning. TU will look to make it 3-0 Friday night against San Diego at 9 p.m.
