Authorities say a man is in custody, after his brother was found shot and killed in Sequoyah County Tuesday evening.
Sheriff Ron Lockhart said someone inside the home off of Highway 64, between Muldrow and Sallisaw, called around 5:15 p.m. to report a disturbance at the house. The dispatcher was still on the phone when a shot was fired.
Lockhart said the victim was Scott Fueston, 37.
Deputies found Fueston shot in the chest. Sheriff Lockhart said Fueston was transported to a Sallisaw hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Sheriff Lockhart said Fueston's brother, whose name they are not releasing, as he has not been arrested, is a "person of interest," at this time.
Family members on the scene told 5NEWS in Fort Smith that the brothers were fighting shortly before the shooting.
One family member said he believed the brother is innocent, saying the alleged shooter was acting in self-defense.
Deputies are also interviewing other witnesses who were at the home, at the time.
Fueston's body will be sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.
