Sunny sky and mild weather will prevail today with highs near 58. A calm and dry weather pattern will remain for most of the week.
We're in store for another super nice weather day with highs in the mid to upper 50s along with mostly sunny conditions. A weak upper level wave will traverse the central high plains today but will only produce a few high or mid-level clouds across northern OK later this afternoon into the early evening hours. The lower portion of the atmosphere remains too dry to support precipitation for the next few days. We may see a chance of a few showers by Sunday or possibly early next week.
The upper air flow will remain basically from the west to east for another day or two before buckling to a northwest flow pattern by Thursday or Friday. The GFS-EURO data both suggests the potential for a weak system Thursday or Friday bringing a surface boundary across the state along with northeast winds and a reinforcement of some cool air. The low level moisture is expected to remain well south of the state, but Saturday there may be a sprinkle or two across eastern OK Sunday as some moisture begins moving back across the region.
GFS and EURO both offer some precip signals for Sunday into Monday, but at this point, I'll only include a slight mention for the Monday time period. The pattern will support a system arriving sometime early next week.
Temps yesterday morning were quite cold with the Tulsa temp at 26. This was the coldest reading since last February. Temps this morning are in the upper 20s and lower 30s but will move into the upper 50s this afternoon along with south winds around 10 mph. Afternoon highs will level off in the lower 60s for the rest of the week with morning lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
The official high yesterday was 53 recorded at 4:17pm
The daily normal average high is 62 with the low of 41.
Daily records include a high of 84 from 1910 and the low of 12 from 1940.
