Tulsa Volleyball Clinches Its Third Straight Conference Title

The Tulsa volleyball team claimed its third straight Conference USA regular season championship with a 3-1 (25-22, 19-25, 25-12, 25-19) victory against Rice on Friday.

The Golden Hurricane (20-9, 13-2 Conference USA) earned the number one seed in next week's Conference USA Volleyball Championship with the victory. TU will play in the noon game on Nov. 16 at the Donald W. Reynolds Center against the eighth-seeded team in the tournament.

Senior Tyler Henderson paced the TU offense with 19 kills, while junior outside hitter Kellie Culbertson tallied 13 kills and 14 digs. Senior outside hitter Diana Silva had 12 kills and 13 digs, and Jessica Adams led the way with 26 digs.

The title also marked the fourth C-USA regular season title in the eight years Tulsa has been in the league.
