The Oklahoma Transportation Commission awarded a Catoosa firm the contract to build an overpass intersection at 116th Street North and U.S. Highway 75.
During its meeting this week, the commission awarded the contract to Sherwood Construction for $5.4 million.
Earlier this year, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation said it was moving up the proposed project from 2015 to 2012.
ODOT said Highway 75 at 116th Street North has seen its share of accidents with a number of those resulting in a fatality.
Sherwood's low bid came in well under ODOT's almost $8 million estimate.
