Police said the murder victim, Robert Max Long, 20, was killed after he answered a knock on his door at the Fairmont Terrace apartment complex, in the 5800 block of South Owasso.

It happened just after midnight on September 27. Long was shot at the doorway, as several suspects entered the apartment.

Another man was shot in a back room of the apartment and survived his wounds.

Long died from his wounds.

Police said they believe the homicide to be robbery motivated and there appeared to be illegal drug activity in the apartment.

TPD said investigators obtained several names from several sources, but focused on Girod as being involved in the robbery and murder.

The TPD Gang Unit located and arrested Girod Monday afternoon and was booked into a Tulsa County jail.

According to court documents, Girod pleaded guilty to two counts of second degree burglary in May of 2011.
