In the final day of qualifying at the ITA Men's All-American Championships, sophomore Alejandro Espejo lost a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 decision to Duke's Raphael Hemmeler on Wednesday, October 3, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The main draw of the championships starts today (Oct. 4), which features three members of the Golden Hurricane tennis team. Japie De Klerk, ranked No. 74 in the nation, face Bob vanOverbeek of Florida at 9 a.m. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. If De Klerk wins, he would play at 1:30 p.m. against either Gonzales Austin of Vanderbilt or George Washington's Francisco Dias. In the doubles main draw, Grant Ive and Tristan Jackson will compete against PeterKobelt and Connor Smith of Ohio State in a match that will not start before 5 p.m.
