A quartet of Golden Hurricanes found the back of the net on Friday as Tulsa blanked the South Carolina Gamecocks 4-0 at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
Cristian Mata got the Hurricane on the board at the in the 24th minute when he chipped in a goal over the keeper's head off a pass from Kyle Cumings. Thirteen minutes later, Bryce Follensbee increased TU's lead to 2-0 when he fired an eight-yard strike past the goal keeper
Tulsa then padded its lead with two quick strikes in the final five minutes of the contest. Kyle Cumings scored in the 86th minute, followed by an Akeil Barrett strike in the 88th.
Mark Pais logged all 90 minutes in goal, picked up three saves and earned his third shutout on the season. Tulsa had an 18-9 lead in shots, including an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal, and a 6-4 lead in corner kicks.
The Tulsa men's soccer team improves to 5-3 on the season, while USC fell to 3-4-1.
The Golden Hurricane will return to action on Tuesday against No. 7 Creighton at 7 p.m. in Tulsa.
