An important deadline is fast approaching for those affected by last month's wildfires in Creek County.
People who lost work or earnings due to the wildfire have until the end of business on September 26 to apply for Disaster Unemployment Assistance.
The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission said any applications received after September 26 will be considered untimely and benefits will be denied, unless the individual can provide good cause for filing after the deadline.
If you believe you may be eligible for assistance, you can call the OESC Unemployment Insurance Service Center at 1-800-555-1554 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
