The Broken Arrow City Council voted to appoint a new city manager Tuesday night.
The council voted unanimously for Thom Moton, the current interim City Manager for the city of Greenville, North Carolina.
"Through this interview process, Mr. Moton stood out to me, the other councilors, as well as the other groups that participated," said Mayor Craig Thurmond. "He is a true visionary that can lead Broken Arrow into the future."
Moton has also held positions in local government in cities in Texas and Missouri.
Broken Arrow has been without a City Manager since April, when David Wooden was fired after controversy over the way he handled a proposed Kialegee tribal casino.
