Tulsa Non-Profit Organization Holds Banquet For Human Trafficking Victims

Every year more than 300,000 children in this country are forced into human trafficking, according to the non-profit organization My Father's House.

Thursday night, for the first time ever, a special banquet was held in honor of the survivors of human trafficking, who have escaped the life of forced prostitution and child pornography.

The banquet was held at the Hilton Tulsa Southern Hills at 7902 South Lewis Avenue. Speakers at the event included a survivor of domestic human trafficking.

The My Father's House organization put on the event with the goal to raise awareness about the problem and to establish a safe home for the victims here in Tulsa.

"This work, for these girls, is to provide new destiny, to provide long term care, to provide safe housing and onsite schooling," said the non-profit's CEO Ruth Billings.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics has seven agents whose only job is to focus on human trafficking in our state.
