A 70-year-old Rogers County man was killed Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by his own vehicle.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said David Michael Bethune, of Oologah, was trying to tow a disabled vehicle in a ditch on his property.

The accident report said Bethune parked his 1960 Willy's Jeep, which was idling on a steep incline, near the disabled car. At some point, Bethune walked behind the Jeep and it rolled backwards, striking him, before rolling off a cliff and stopping about 120 feet away, near the water's edge.

OHP said Bethune died at the scene from massive injuries.
