The Tulsa men's soccer team upset third-ranked New Mexico Friday night on the foot of a true freshman.

Bryce Follensbee's overtime goal broke a 1-1 tie and lifted the Golden Hurricane to a win for the ages.

It was the freshman's third goal of the season in just TU's second game. The Hurricane moved to 2-0 on the young season while New Mexico fell to 1-1.

The Lobos got on the board first when Matthew Gibbons headed one into the net 25 minutes into the first half, but Akeil Barrett tied it up just two minutes later on a penalty shot.

Tulsa coach Tom McIntosh was clearly proud of his Hurricane after the big win.

"New Mexico played very well tonight, but we grinded out a win," McIntosh said. "It was a good win against a very good team."

TU will look to repeat the performance against fourth-ranked South Florida on Sunday.
