A 25-year-old homeless man was arrested Tuesday amid allegations he raped another homeless man in West Tulsa.

According to an arrest report, Jeffery Tallon attacked the 55-year-old victim near the Katy Jogging Trail, southeast of Zeigler Park, just after 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

Tallon was booked into jail on complaints of first-degree rape and aggravated assault and battery.

The victim was found unconscious with multiple facial and head injuries and was bleeding excessively, the report said. He had a tear from the attack so extensive it required surgery, and hospital staff later told police the victim also had broken ribs and internal bleeding, the report said.

An investigator said a witness, who ran to seek help, gave police a detailed description of the attacker.

Police searched the area and found Tallon asleep at an encampment for transients near the 3500 block of East Charles Page Boulevard along the Arkansas River, the report said.

A bloody shirt was found near where Tallon was sleeping, the report said.

Tallon is being held on $52,000 bond.
