Some Green Country school children will be starting the school year off right, thanks to a donation from Target.

The store gave $80 gift cards to 60 kids from local Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs. On Wednesday, the kids got to use those cards for back-to-school shopping.

"The kids get to do their own shopping, and it's always exciting for them they got money to spend, and they don't have to worry about, 'can I get this, or can I get that,' they have enough to get whatever they need," said Captain Jay Spalding of the Salvation Army.

You can help support the Salvation Army by texting TULSA to 85944 to make a $10 donation.
