Sperry Man Maintains Innocence In ODOT Worker Death

Deven Franklin, 19, is charged with first degree manslaughter, accused of striking and killing Ira Henderson.

A Sperry man charged with the death of a Oklahoma Department of Transportation employee last year in Washington County has entered a plea of not guilty during a court appearance Wednesday.

Deven Franklin, 19, is charged with first degree manslaughter, accused of striking and killing Ira Henderson.

Henderson was part of an ODOT work crew on U.S. Highway 75, north of Ramona. The crash happened on November 30, 2011.

Franklin was bound over for trial earlier this month.

His next court date is August 1, 2012. Franklin remains in the Washington County jail on a $250,000 bond.
