Education collaboration was on the agenda Tuesday for Tulsa city councilors.
They met with area public school superintendents and school board members at Tulsa's city hall.
Council chair G.T. Bynum called for the summit saying a city's education system has an important impact on a community's success and long-term growth.
"It is our hope that this first meeting will help us initiate that level of communication and identify a process by which we can move forward together," said G.T. Bynum.
Bynum said his goal was to open lines of communications between city and education leaders.
