Tulsa Police: Woman Claims SUV Stolen After She Wrecks It

A woman was arrested on a DUI complaint after police say she crashed her SUV into a fence about a block from her Tulsa home Tuesday morning.

Tulsa Police say it happened at around 2:45 a.m. near Archer and Hudson.

Officers say 37-year-old Erin Wheeler hit a stop sign, a fence and then a utility pole before getting her SUV to stop.

Police say she left her SUV at the crash scene then went home, called 911 and reported her SUV had been stolen.

Officers say Wheeler told them she had a few drinks at a nearby club before driving home.

Wheeler was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of leaving the scene of a property damaged crash, DUI and filing a false report of an auto theft.
