Tulsa Basketball Hall Of Fame Member David Voss Dies At 72

Former Tulsa basketball star, David Voss, died Tuesday at the age of 72.

Tulsa basketball Hall of Fame member David Voss passed away Tuesday morning at the age of 72.

Voss played for the Golden Hurricane from 1957-1961, where he was considered one of the great shooters in the history of Tulsa basketball. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001.

Voss scored 1,074 points and averaged 14.3 points per game. Voss was also a two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference selection, leading Tulsa in scoring his junior and senior season with a 15.2 average and a 16.6 average, respectively.

Voss also held the record for consecutive free throws made for a time, and hit 81.5 percent from the free throw line his last two seasons.

A native of Coweta, OK, Voss was All-State in high school, leading his team to 28-1 record in his senior year of 1956-57.
