Green Country residents will celebrate Independence Day with festivities over several days. Here's a list of some of the public fireworks displays planned for 2012.
Wednesday, July 4
Jenks, America will hold Sooner Boomfest 2012 at the Jenks Pedestrian Bridge/96th Street Wednesday, July 4. It's an all-day music and fireworks festival. For more information: http://riverfrontsouthok.com/events/sooner-boomerfest-2012/
ONEOK Freedom Fest at Tulsa Riverparks. Activities start at River West Festival Park at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 4. Fireworks begin at 9:39 p.m. For more information: http://www.riverparks.org/freedomfest/
Sapulpa: Wednesday, July 4 Freedom Festival at Liberty Park from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. America Celebrates America fireworks display, 9:45 p.m. across from Sapulpa Golf Course. For more information: http://www.sapulpachamber.com/
Oologah Lake fireworks show: Wednesday, July 4 (begins at dusk about 9:30 to 9:45 p.m.) near the dam and Redbud Marina. People often gather at Hawthorn Bluff on the north side of the dam to watch fireworks shooting over the lake.
Okmulgee Fireworks Extravaganza will be held at Harmon Stadium Wednesday, July 4 at 9:30 a.m. Music will be broadcast on 91.5FM, and the fireworks will be shown live on Suddenlink public access channel 19 in Okmulgee, Henryetta and Morris.
Saturday, July 7
