Some students give up part of their summer break to help out here in the state.

The teens came from across the country to share their time and talents in various communities on sooner soil.

We caught up with one group of 250 teens in Catoosa, where they were painting the First Baptist Church.

Not only are they sprucing things up, they're also sharing their faith.

KC Jo Hertter was one of the many volunteers in Catoosa Wednesday.

"It's also great to just come out here and, uh, paint," said Hertter. "Talk with other people, get to know other people and their stories."

The students pay for these trips out of their own pockets.

They are among 19,000 students nationwide taking part in the "World Changers" program.
