A Tulsa man has been arrested after police determined he was in possession of child pornography at a Tulsa City-County Library.
Library officials reported finding an electronic storage device and opening it to try to identify the owner. It contained multiple images of nude children, Tulsa police said. Neilson's personal information, including his resume, was also stored on the device.
May 23, 2012 library surveillance tape shows William Gaston Neilson, 37, using a printer and computer, as well as the device.
Police served a search warrant Thursday at Neilson's residence in the 4500 block of South Peoria Ave.
Authorities said they entered the home and found Neilson in his bedroom. A photographic image of a topless preteen in an erotic position was on the computer's monitor, the report said.
"We do not know if there was touching involved," Tulsa Police Cpl. Greg Smith said. "We don't know what happened to the child."
A forensic pediatrician viewed the image and determined the child is under the age of 16, the report said.
The computers seized during the warrant service will be analyzed by the forensics team. Neilson is being held on two complaints of possession of child pornography and $20,000 bond.
Records show the National Center for Exploited Children sent a tip about Neilson to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation in 2007. Charges were filed and he was arrested, but the case was later dismissed.
