Memorial Day Ceremony Set For Fort Gibson National Cemetery

Veterans of the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard along with the Cherokee and Keetoowah Band honor guards will remember the fallen in a ceremony Memorial Day.

Veterans from each branch of the United States armed forces, VFW members and Cherokee and Keetoowah Band honor guards will participate in a Memorial Day ceremony at Fort Gibson Monday.

The groups will remember the sacrifices of military men and women who died while serving their country in the 2 p.m. ceremony.

Tim Smith, Post Commander of the Fort Gibson National Ceremony, is the 2012 guest speaker.

The ceremony will take place at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery which serves about 166,000 veterans in eastern Oklahoma.

The Veterans Administration invites the public to come to the Memorial Day ceremony.
