The Tulsa Drillers opened a three-game home series against Frisco with a 5-2 victory.
The Drillers struck first in the bottom of the fourth when Nolan Arenado started things off with a single and moved around the bases to score the game's first run off Kent Matthes single to left.
Tulsa wasn't done there. In the fifth, Lars Davis started with a single to center followed by Michael Mitchell's single to right to put two on with no outs. Josh Rutledge earned the walk to load the bases and after a quick Frisco discussion on the mound up came Tulsa's Angelys Nina. He took the first pitch and sent it flying to center for a triple that scored three runs. Ben Paulsen followed with another single, this time to right, that scored Arenado and put the Drillers on top 5-0.
Frisco got on the board in the seventh frame when Jose Feliz singled to left scoring Val Majewski from third. The RoughRiders tacked on one more in the eighth but couldn't muster any more runs in the 5-2 loss.
Tulsa's Nina went three-for-four with three RBI on the night and starter Dan Houston earned the win in seven innings from the mound.
