A Tulsa woman was watching TV when she looked outside and saw a man breaking into her van.

Tulsa Police got the 911 call at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday to the home in the 300 block of North Santa Fe.

When officers arrived, the man was still inside the van.   He ran off, but a police K-9 officer tracked him down hiding under a mattress on a nearby home's back porch.

Officers arrested 28-year-old Kyle Stromme. They say he had used a statue from a woman's yard to break into the van.

EMSA treated Stromme for several dog bites following his arrest.

Stromme has numerous burglary convictions out of Tulsa County and had been released from prison in April of last year after serving time for several of those convictions.

Tulsa Police believe Stromme had also broken into another car down the street.

He was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of burglary from vehicle and resisting arrest.
