Skiatook High School Marching Band To March In National Memorial Day Parade

The Skiatook High School marching band is one of two Oklahoma bands to participate in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. on Monday, May 28, 2012.

The parade will pass by the National Mall on Constitution Avenue and will consist of units honoring World War I, War World II, The Korean and Vietnam Conflicts, Desert Storm and the liberation of Grenada, Panama, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The other Oklahoma band is the Elmore City High School Badger Band. Elmore City is southwest of Pauls Valley.

The Skiatook band leaves on Friday, May 25th and returns from Washington, D.C. on May 31st.

The band also plans to visit Williamsburg, Virginia, Arlington National Cemetery and the Smithsonian.
