As the season rolls on, the weekly awards continue to roll in for Oral Roberts.
Drew Bowen has been named the Summit League Pitcher of the week, while ORU catcher Bennett Pickar is the league's Player of the Week.
Both players were instrumental in Oral Roberts three wins over conference rival IPFW over the weekend.
Bowen started game one of the four-game series battle and pitched a complete game shutout in the 11-0 win. He struck out nine batters and allowed four hits to earn him his third weekly pitchers honor and the fourth of his career.
On the offensive side, Pickar batted .667 for the series with one home run and 11 RBI. On Friday, he blasted a grand slam and drove in a total of six runs. On Sunday he went 3-for-3 on the day with two RBI in the 12-1 victory.
On the season, Bowen is 4-2 with a 2.25 ERA in ten appearances. Pickar has started all 51 games behind the plate and is batting .319 with two homers and 29 RBI.
Bowen shares the Pitcher of the Week honor with Southern Utah's Chase Rezac.
The Golden Eagles return to play Thursday for a series against North Dakota State starting Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The Golden Eagles lead the Summit League regular season title race by one game over Oakland and 1.5 over North Dakota State.
