A Sand Springs man was hospitalized after a single-car wreck early Sunday morning on Interstate 244.

Marshall Dylan Relee Douglas, 24, was driving a 1988 Mercury Cougar eastbound at 129th East Avenue at about 1:17 a.m. when his car went into a broadslide, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Douglas was speeding in a construction zone when the car left the roadway, the report states. The Cougar struck sand barrels and porta potty, then a concrete wall before coming to rest up against the barrier wall, the report states.

Troopers smelled the odor of alcoholic beverage on Douglas, who was wearing his seatbelt. He was taken to a Tulsa hospital in stable condition with internal injuries.
