A Tulsa judge has delayed a preliminary hearing until July 18, 2012 for a man charged with shooting two people outside the Tulsa courthouse in March.

Andrew Dennehy was scheduled for a hearing on May 11, 2012.

The judge also okayed a request to combine charges from that incident with one in April in which he tried to escape from his hospital room.

In March, Dennehy was charged with two counts of shooting with intent to kill and in April, he was charged with escape from detention and assault and battery on a police officer.

During the March 7, 2012 incident, Dennehy was shot in the face after exchanging gunfire with deputies.

His defense attorney states in a court filing, a gunshot wound to Dennehy's face makes it difficult for Dennehy to communicate with him.

The filing also expresses concern that Dennehy may not be competent to stand trial.
