Two people were injured in what Tulsa police called a home invasion robbery at Willowbend Apartments. Authorities say a man kicked in the front door of an apartment in the 3000 block of South 101st East Avenue at about 1 a.m.
The man demanded money, and police believe there was a struggle. A male resident was shot in the torso, and a female received minor wounds from a knife, according to Tulsa Police Sergeant Chris Moudy.
As officers investigated the robbery, another man walked up from across the street and reported he had just been robbed by five men, Moudy said.
"At this time, we don't know if those were related, but we're looking into this," Moudy said. The second robbery may have been "an acquaintance-type deal," he said.
The suspect in the home invasion robbery ran off. The shooting victim, a Hispanic male in his 30s, was taken to the hospital in serious condition, according to police.
