A 3-year-old special needs child discovered missing Wednesday morning was located south of his Bixby home shortly after 1:30 p.m., authorities have confirmed to News On 6.
Triston Michael Charles was last seen in his bed and was noticed missing around 9:30 a.m.
Bixby Police said the boy's mother woke up at about 6 a.m. and saw the boy asleep. When she woke up again at 9:30, the boy was gone.
She found the back door of the home open and the family dog, a blonde German Shepherd mix, was also gone.
The search was complicated by the fact that Charles, who has special needs, cannot speak. A man on horseback found the boy in a ravine after hearing the dog growling.

Police think the boy left the house on his own and the dog followed him.
The search team said Charles is being looked at by EMSA, as he was scratched up and covered in ticks.
His home is near 145th E Ave. and 201st Street South, which is off Highway 64 east of Bixby. The area is called Bixby Ranch Estates. He was located about a half mile away.
