Tulsa Police: Fast-Moving Sonic Carhop Escapes Armed Robber

Tulsa Police are searching for a man they say tried - unsuccessfully - to rob a Sonic Drive-In.

Authorities say a man armed with a gun walked up to the Sonic at 1007 West 23rd Street at 9 p.m. April 21, 2012. He confronted a carhop, demanding money.

The Sonic employee ran into the store and locked the door. The suspect tried to enter the store but was unsuccessful, according to the police bulletin. The man ran off.

The suspect is described as a black male, 18 to 20 years old of medium height. Police released a photo of the suspect Monday morning.
