The Tulsa Drillers bounced back from a series opening loss to San Antonio with a 9-4 win in game two despite a 1 hour and 45 minute rain delay.
Tulsa struck first in the bottom of the first as Josh Rutledge homered on a line drive to left field. Nolan Arenado then connected on a double to left that scored Michael Mitchell to take an early 2-0 lead.
The Missions got on the board in the top of the third when Jaff Decker sent a two-run home run ball to right field tying the game at 2.
The Drillers added two more runs over the third and fourth innings, and two more in the fifth when Rutledge hit his second homer of the night-this time a two run shot to go up 6-3.
Another productive inning in the bottom of the sixth saw Tulsa's Ben Paulsen send a two run shot to right that put the Drillers up 8-3. Tulsa added another run in the seventh as Kent Matthes knocked a line drive to right for a double that scored Keil Roling.
San Antonio scored one more run in the top of the ninth off another home run, this time by Cody Decker, but Tulsa got it together to close out the game and take the 9-3 win.
The two teams will take the field again Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
