TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Folds of Honor Foundation has always hosted extravagant events to further its cause of helping military families. But this year's Patriot Cup is taking it to a whole new level.
On Memorial Day weekend, May 26-28, in Tulsa, top PGA, Champions Tour and LPGA professionals will team up with military golfers and celebrities to take part in the Patriot Cup at the Patriot Golf Course.
Some of the biggest names in golf such as Hunter Mahan and Rickie Fowler will compete in the tournament. Oklahoma native Vince Gill will also take part in the tournament, and will team up with Rascal Flatts for a benefit concert during the weekend.
The Folds of Honor Foundation "provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen and disabled military service members, who have made extreme sacrifices while serving our great nation," according to its website.
The Invitational Qualifier will take place on Sunday, May 27 and will combine a PGA pro with two military golfers and two Folds of Honor donors on each team.
The Patriot Cup itself will take place on Monday, May 28 featuring teams of two tour players and/or celebrities, two qualifying military golfers and a Folds of Honor donor.
Dinner, the concert and other events will follow at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
