Oral Roberts Dominates Louisiana Tech

A late offensive outburst gave the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles a big 14-4 win over Louisiana Tech Sunday, making it back-to-back against the Bulldogs.

Leading 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth with runners on second and third with no outs, Logan Domenico singled to left field, bringing Bennett Pickar home. Kevin Cho laid down a sacrifice bunt in the next at-bat to bring Tyler Coker home and extend the lead to five runs.

Two at-bats later, Cam Schiller singled down the right field line, bringing Domenico home. Two batters later, Jose Trevino knocked in a two-run double to bring the lead to a big eight runs, and a Nate Goro RBI single brought it to 9-0.

Louisiana Tech scored a run in the top of the seventh, but ORU wouldn't go away. With no outs on the board and runners on second and third in the bottom of the seventh, Kevin Cho singled to short stop bringing Coker home to push the lead back to nine runs. Brandon King followed with an RBI single to bring Jake O'Brien home and extend the lead to 11-1.

Two at-bats later, Jared Schlehuber knocked in a two-run double and Trevino followed with a sacrifice fly to push the lead to 14-1, putting the game well out of reach.

Alex Gonzalez (3-1) came away with a win for his work, giving up just one earned run on four hits, striking out 10 in his seven innings of service. Phil Maton (5-2) was credited with a loss for his work, giving up two earned runs on six hits in five innings.

The Golden Hurricane will go for the series sweep at 1 p.m. Sunday, before a mid-week matchup against UALR.
