Danny Manning Hires Brett Ballard As Assistant

New Tulsa head coach Danny Manning wasted no time in building his coaching staff, as former Baker University head coach Brett Ballard was hired Thursday afternoon.

During his time at Baker, Ballard took the wildcats to its first Heart of America conference championship game, and a national title berth, its first since 1996. He ends his career at Baker with a 33-30 record in two seasons.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time coaching the Baker University men's basketball team," Ballard said in a press release from the school. "I was fortunate to work with a group of dedicated players, committed to the classroom and basketball court."

Ballard is a Kansas alum, along with Manning, playing for the Jayhawks from 1999-2003, a decade after his new boss.
