Telephone, Cellular Service Down In Mayes County Area

A cut line has caused a major telephone disruption in parts of Mayes County.

A representative from AT&T said that someone was digging Thursday afternoon and cut a line that provides, telephone, cellular and internet service to Mayes County residents.

AT&T crews are at the scene where the cut occurred and are working to repair the line. Crews were not able to give an estimate of when service will be restored.

Reports of widespread cell phone outages were coming in on Facebook and Twitter.

It's not clear how many customers have been affected.
