Much above normal temperatures will continue to dominate our weather for the rest of the week with overnight lows and daytime highs running on the order of 10-15+ degrees above normal each day. Since the normal diurnal temperature range at the end of the month is 67/43 for the high/low respectively, and since we will be near 60 each morning and near 80 each afternoon this week; obviously this is a remarkable run of weather we are having.
A weak frontal boundary will also make it to near the OK/KS state line and stall out which could set off a few isolated storms for the more northern counties this afternoon and again Wednesday afternoon. Any storms which do form could pose a threat of hail and damaging winds along with brief but locally heavy rainfall. A better chance of showers and storms still looks to be a possibility for Friday.
A stronger system is also on schedule to be coming our way late Sunday or early Monday with more seasonal temperatures likely for the early part of that next week. Still too early to say if this will be able to produce a late frost or a light freeze, but I would not discount the possibility just yet. The last time we were this warm in March, we had a late, hard freeze in April so anything remains possible.
In the meantime, stay tuned, enjoy this Spring like weather, and check back for updates.
