Oklahoma's Department of Human Services has an interim director. Commissioners appointed Secretary of Finance Preston Doerflinger to the job.
Governor Fallin applauded the move, saying Doerflinger is a problem solver who has saved Oklahoma millions of dollars while improving state services.
Until the DHS director job is filled permanently, Doerflinger is stepping aside from the finance director job.
Doerflinger was Tulsa's city auditor before resigning last year to take that position.
